Two of my recently favorite quotes and a butterfly

"We no longer have the luxury of spending our energy on anything that does not lead us and our families to Christ." - Sherri L. Dew

"A woman's heart should be so lost in God that a man needs to seek Him in order to find Her."
-Unknown

About a couple of weeks ago Josh and I were asked to speak in Sacrament at church. Our topics were on trials, why we have them, and how to over come them. One of the things that i referred to in part of my talk regarding why we have trails; was by Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of our church. It reads :

"Your answer may be found in considering a butterfly. Wrapped tightly in its cocoon, the developing chrysalis must struggle with all its might to break its confinement. The butterfly might think, Why must I suffer so? Why cannot I simply, in the twinkling of an eye, become a butterfly?
Such thoughts would be contrary to the Creator's design. The struggle to break out of the cocoon develops the butterfly so it can fly. Without that adversity, the butterfly would never have the strength to achieve its destiny. It would never develop the strength to become something extraordinary.
Adversity can strengthen and refine us. As with the butterfly, adversity is necessary to build character in people. Even when we are called to sail through troubled waters, we need to know the place of adversity in shaping our divine potential.
If only we would look beyond our present suffering and see our struggles as a temporary chrysalis. If only we would have the faith and trust in our Heavenly Father to see how, after a little season, the we can emerge from our trails more refined and glorious"
(Isn't that just awesome! :D)

Randomness in September :D

A few people have been asking us what we have been so busy with and my response would be i dunno just busy, but it just dawned on me as i was picking pictures to put on this post, that we been busy being a family! These past couple of weeks, i have really sat back and looked at my little family, how i love spending time with them. Esp. with all the attacks on family more so lately, i have learned to treasure them more and celebrate being a family.

If Kimberly had to choose between going to live with the Disney Princesses at Disney Land or living with us...i fear that she would take it in a heartbeat :D She loves dressing up and telling everyone around her that she Ariel. We recently got her the new Little Mermaid movie and it is sooo cute! Kimberly is still into coloring and drawing. About 2 weeks ago she made Josh and i both tear up with this drawing...we felt that our little girl was growing up so fast.

"Look Mommy its a tulip!" I was so proud of her.

Baking time!! I found this puffy bakers hat and matching apron in the dollar section at the Target Great land on Rosedale. I bought the same for Wyatt but in blue. Whenever I ask Kimberly to help me make something she insist on putting on her "baking gear". Even to just help pour milk into to cereal bowl in the morning...lol. These pics are her first time helping me bake a cake for daddy.

Her favorite part was licking the "sticks". It was so much fun. I realized during our baking event that i need to do more Mommy daughter activities. Sometimes i get to busy trying to take care of her basic needs that i forget that i need to nurture and help her grow. :D

Wyatt Wyatt BowByatt Bananafana MowByatt!

Wyatt is still growing like a football player, 2lbs shy of his big sister. He loves reading books at night. And recently is crazy about the movie CARS. For about a week now he has started to eat with a fork and spoon and eats at the table now, no more booster seat :D Wyatt also really loves Little Einsteins! And loves running to the t.v. to point out where Big Jet is or what the next item that they need to find may be.

Josh and I are finally on the right track in reaching our weight loss goals. I have been so proud of Josh and his hard work that he has done these past couple of weeks. He is a great example to me. Luckily the new season of the Biggest Loser:Families started last night and it will be a great motivator each week to watch and loose the weight right along with the contestants on the show. Please keep us in your prayers as we strive to reach our goals and keep those cheeseburgers and fries away!
From our family to yours, we wish you a great rest of the week.
