Two of my recently favorite quotes and a butterfly

"We no longer have the luxury of spending our energy on anything that does not lead us and our families to Christ." - Sherri L. Dew

"A woman's heart should be so lost in God that a man needs to seek Him in order to find Her."
-Unknown

About a couple of weeks ago Josh and I were asked to speak in Sacrament at church. Our topics were on trials, why we have them, and how to over come them. One of the things that i referred to in part of my talk regarding why we have trails; was by Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of our church. It reads :

"Your answer may be found in considering a butterfly. Wrapped tightly in its cocoon, the developing chrysalis must struggle with all its might to break its confinement. The butterfly might think, Why must I suffer so? Why cannot I simply, in the twinkling of an eye, become a butterfly?
Such thoughts would be contrary to the Creator's design. The struggle to break out of the cocoon develops the butterfly so it can fly. Without that adversity, the butterfly would never have the strength to achieve its destiny. It would never develop the strength to become something extraordinary.
Adversity can strengthen and refine us. As with the butterfly, adversity is necessary to build character in people. Even when we are called to sail through troubled waters, we need to know the place of adversity in shaping our divine potential.
If only we would look beyond our present suffering and see our struggles as a temporary chrysalis. If only we would have the faith and trust in our Heavenly Father to see how, after a little season, the we can emerge from our trails more refined and glorious"
(Isn't that just awesome! :D)

Randomness in September :D

A few people have been asking us what we have been so busy with and my response would be i dunno just busy, but it just dawned on me as i was picking pictures to put on this post, that we been busy being a family! These past couple of weeks, i have really sat back and looked at my little family, how i love spending time with them. Esp. with all the attacks on family more so lately, i have learned to treasure them more and celebrate being a family.

If Kimberly had to choose between going to live with the Disney Princesses at Disney Land or living with us...i fear that she would take it in a heartbeat :D She loves dressing up and telling everyone around her that she Ariel. We recently got her the new Little Mermaid movie and it is sooo cute! Kimberly is still into coloring and drawing. About 2 weeks ago she made Josh and i both tear up with this drawing...we felt that our little girl was growing up so fast.

"Look Mommy its a tulip!" I was so proud of her.

Baking time!! I found this puffy bakers hat and matching apron in the dollar section at the Target Great land on Rosedale. I bought the same for Wyatt but in blue. Whenever I ask Kimberly to help me make something she insist on putting on her "baking gear". Even to just help pour milk into to cereal bowl in the morning...lol. These pics are her first time helping me bake a cake for daddy.

Her favorite part was licking the "sticks". It was so much fun. I realized during our baking event that i need to do more Mommy daughter activities. Sometimes i get to busy trying to take care of her basic needs that i forget that i need to nurture and help her grow. :D

Wyatt Wyatt BowByatt Bananafana MowByatt!

Wyatt is still growing like a football player, 2lbs shy of his big sister. He loves reading books at night. And recently is crazy about the movie CARS. For about a week now he has started to eat with a fork and spoon and eats at the table now, no more booster seat :D Wyatt also really loves Little Einsteins! And loves running to the t.v. to point out where Big Jet is or what the next item that they need to find may be.

Josh and I are finally on the right track in reaching our weight loss goals. I have been so proud of Josh and his hard work that he has done these past couple of weeks. He is a great example to me. Luckily the new season of the Biggest Loser:Families started last night and it will be a great motivator each week to watch and loose the weight right along with the contestants on the show. Please keep us in your prayers as we strive to reach our goals and keep those cheeseburgers and fries away!
From our family to yours, we wish you a great rest of the week.

"Oh Where Oh Where Have the Luchau's gone??!!"

Hello there Ladies and Gents!!

I am sure you all have been wondering that very question..."Where the heck is the Luchau Family?! Well, we haven't gone any where, it was our camera. I had a blond moment and tried to take a pic with it and it did not work, tried it again the next day still did not work. So since May our family has been under the impression that our camera is broken. When in fact all we really needed to do was change the batteries...and not only that, but make sure that they were in the right way...
Now that everyone has a had a good laugh, lets move on to more important things, like what we have been up to:D.(Seriously...you can stop laughing now...)

The kids have been growing up so fast in front of our eyes, every day we are reminded how lucky we are to be parents. Kimberly is still into princesses and dressing up. She also has been really into coloring and drawing. Our fridge is often covered in her beautiful artwork:D.Kimberly also has been really into these children scripture movies("Living Scriptures") that we signed up for. They are great and it helps her understand the things that she learns from us and primary. She also went to the Zoo and the beach recently and had a blast. Also keeps asking when she is going to be able to go back again(lol).

Wyatt(our line backer...no joke)loves to tackle his older sister to the ground and then put his big 'ol toddler thighs around her buddy. Now we don't encourage violence in our home, but it has become one of our fav. past times to wrestle with him.It is all for fun and I make sure the kids do not do it out of anger :D. Wyty is freakishly strong and knocks us down with ease. His vocabulary is growing and we are really enjoying that. He is also really into instruments and loves to dance to music(just like his big sis)

Josh and I have been keeping busy. With work and the kids our weeks go by like hours. At the end of last month Josh went with his good friend to Comic-Con down in San Diego, Ca. He had a blast! We missed him terribly, but kept busy thanks to one of my favorite people.(Love you Annie!!)
I love to do crafts so I have been busy doing things for the kids rooms and I am just about finished. The beginning of this month has flown by for us both for two reasons...reading the fourth book in the Twilight Series(The greatest series EVER!!)And getting ready for my Mom, her husband Gene and my sister Audrey to come and visit! They just left on Sunday and it was a blast. It was so wonderful to see them. And even a bigger joy for them to see Kimberly and Wyatt. (Thank you guys for coming all this way, it was great! Miss you already! All our Love!)

So there ya have it, i know that it is not much, but who really has the time to read every little detail of what we have been doing since our last post...? I know that i don't have the time to type it(lol) But i am happy to say that our camera is working and we will be updating our blog more frequently. Thank you to all of your "hello's" and "Where the heck are you's??" we really appreciate them. We love you all!

No More "Curly Sue" ???

For the past few weeks we have gotten comments about Wyatt's curly locks and how oh what a beautiful little girl he is or could be...not exactly what you want to hear about your SON. I have been wanting to cut his hair for sometime now, but it seems, as usual that the weeks go by like minutes and his hair just kept getting longer. Well, we finally did it.
I have been asking family and friends if they knew how to cut little boys hair and or if they would not mind doing it, they all told me ( more or less) "i don't know" , "too afraid", and "good luck with that...". Well it needed to be done asap, so we called around to different hair cut places yesterday evening and they were either closed or were also too afraid to do it b/c he was so young. I'm thinking, well where the heck do ppl. take their boys to get their hair cuts???!! Then it dawned on me...The Karrer Family has THREE boys! So i called them up and they said to go to Great Clips and that they do a really good job. So we piled in the car and drove down. As we got out of the car i started to get nervous(weird huh?), i think that it was hitting me how much time really does fly and that Wyatt is growing up into a little boy. Anyways, we went in and he did so good. Wyatt sat so still for his stylist(lol) Jennifer. She did great too, just check out those pics! Thank you Jennifer and thank you Karrer Family for the referral, love you guys!

From Here to Eternity <3

35,040 hours...1,460 days...or in other words 4 years. 4 years, that's how long Josh and I have been married. Wow, i can not believe it! It has gone by so fast. We have actually been together for a total of almost 5 years(when we started dating). It seems not to long ago our friend Kenny tryed getting us together. It did not happen at first, but days later Josh asked me out on a date :) A few more days later and the date had finally arrived! I was so excited, he wanted to take me out to see a play called "Mid-Summer Nights dream". I had never really been to plays before(except in high school) so i was looking forward to it. Josh showed up at my door nicely dressed(we thought that it would be fun to dress up for the play :) )and caring a white rose just for me. It was so sweet.
So that is how it all began, 2 weeks later we spoke what our hearts had immediately felt after a of couple dates;the words "I love you". 3 months later he asked me if i would spend forever with him, and 3 months after that we were sealed for eternity in the San Diego temple March 26th 2004. The best day of my life! And you all pretty much know the rest of what has been going on in our lives :)Two babies later and lots and lots of love and laughter, we could not be more happy to have each other.

As a young girl to a young adult i was always keeping my eye out for my "Prince Charming" all the while thinking of what i wanted him to look like, where we would get married, what his personalty would be like, ect...
So i dated a lot and kissed a lot of frogs and almost came close to marrying who i thought my "Prince Charming" was...but it just didn't feel right...and through lots of prayers decided not to presue this "Frog" anymore. I picked my self back up and really focused on my relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior. And 2 weeks later that is when Josh was blessed in my life.
He has made me more happy than i could have ever imagined or desired. He is such an amazing husband, someone who i feel so honored to be married to. So here we are 4 years later and i can not wait to spend 44(and then some) years with my "Prince Charming".

~Easter 2008~

On Saturday night at around 12midnight i was just heading to bed, Josh and i had stayed up to watch a movie(which by the way he fell asleep to..lol)So after tucking him in to bed i had heard a noise, i peeked out the window and there was my neighbor across the street digging around in his car, and in a flash ran up to his front door with 2 Easter baskets. I thought to myself,"Oh how funny, they forgot about doing their kids Easter baskets...Oh shoot! So did i!- Baby i need to do the kids easter baskets!" With a mumble and a roll over Josh was back to sleep. So By 12:22am i had finally finished their baskets :) The kids had not slept very good at all after i had gone to bed.And we did not wake up until after 8am, so we missed going to church in Taft. Which i really wanted to make(as i do every Sunday) but this Sunday was special it was Easter and i wanted Kimberly to listen to the talks about the real meaning of Easter. So as any mom would do,I improvised :) i had read the night before Luke chapter 23-24 the last day or so of Christ's life and then His Resurrection. As Josh, Wyatt and I woke up we all waited for Miss Kimberly to join us. About 45mins later she awoke and the first thing out of her mouth was, "Where are my bunny ears-I need to put them on" So out she came with bunny ears on ready to celebrate the day. Kimberly walks into the living room and eyes almost pop out of her head; at her and brothers baskets sitting on the t.v stand. But before she got too envolved in the basket goodies, i sat her down next to me and told her the meaning of Easter and told her of what to day is and why it is a very special day. I thought that she was going to be distracted by her basket as i talked to her, but she actually sat and listened and asked questions. It was really neat, something i will always remember.
Soon after there was a blurr of fake pink and green grass, chocolate, books, princess items, toy airplanes, and Easter eggs filled with life saver jelly beans! It was awesome!! Later the day we headed over to Josh's Mom's in Taft, where we were greeted by some of his family on his mom's side. It was a feast to be hold.-yumm! After everyone had finished stuffing their tummy's it was the annual Easter basket giving from his mom, Diana. She had shopped, gathered and put together all 32 baskets. She always makes Easter to special!( Thank you Diana it was just great) Everyone OooOoed and Awwwed over what they were given, we all empty out the baskets and went on an Easter egg hunt!! Kimberly had so much fun. And it was great just watching her get out there with the big kids and racing to get the next egg. (Of course Josh and i helped her with some of the ones that were hard to see. :) ) It was a great time for all and one we will always remember.

Happy Happy Birthday!!

Woooo Hoooo! Josh had a birthday last week! He turned 30...na just kidding, he turned 27! For a couple of weeks i had been planning on throwing him a surprise bday party and it finally came all together on Wed. the 19th. Some of our closes friends came to say surprise and wish him a happy bday. We had Josh's favorite meal(TACOS!!)It was so yummy. That day i was so worried that he already knew and that no body would show up and/or something would go terribly wrong. But it didn't, it came together so nicely.I'm sure that all the prayin' i was doing through out the day helped...lol. Mid-way through the party i got such a sense of relief and appreciation for such a wonderful and fun night that it was.Thank you to all that came, it really meant a lot to Josh and I.

PARTY TIME!!

On Feb 9th we celebrated Wyatt turing one! We had food, balloon play area, and lots of kiddos running around. It was awesome! It was such a site to see all those that came, that love and support our little boy. And to those who could not make it, we know that there was equal love and well wishing for him:) After everyone filled their tummy's with Josh's carne asada and chicken tacos and the kids played a bit, it was time for some cake! As i put on the candle for my little boy and turn to him with the cake, i look up and see our family and friends singing happy birthday to him. It was so neat and it touched my heart. How lucky our family is...

Now it was time for Wyatt to have his very own first cake...he DESTROYED it like he was Godzilla in New York. At one point we could not tell where his fingers had went b/c it was all one big cake mitten. It was awesome. Thank you all so much for coming and loving our little boy so much! (I am sorry that i have not gotten thank you cards out yet they are sitting right here next to me, i just can not seem to remember to get stamps...sorry)

Long time no blog...sorry everyone.

Hey there family and friends! Our family has realized that we have not posted anything new on our blog since LAST month! Oh my goodness,I did not realize that it had been that long.I know that a lot has happened since my last post, but i can not seem to remember all the details...let me see what i can remember. In January Josh and went to a few hockey games-which was really fun. We are trying to get back in the habit of a weekly date night. I love any time that i get to share with my hubby, but i esp. love date nights! At the end of January great and not so great events happened. First lets get the not so great out of the way. I got that nasty flu/bronchitis which crippled our family for about a month now. Man, that thing is HORRIBLE! Everyone has gotten it in our family and i am sure that you and yours have as well. (Our prayers and thoughts are with you in hopes that you get better) Wyatt is the only one that is trying still to get over some form of it. Poor little guy.He is on breathing treatment 3 times a day and on two other meds to help with his wheezing and early signs of an ear infection. I dunno about you but i really hate it when my kids are sick. Alright i could go on and about this, but i will now move on to happier things....My son turned ONE!!!!

Thats right, Wyatt turned one on January 29th! I can not believe that it has been a year! Goodness! He is such a character too, oh and such a boy. He crawls around with his trucks in his hand zooming them around the house. Also he loves to destroy anything that he can get his hands on. It has been keeping me on my toes trying to keep him out of things.Wyatt is so funny and he KNOWS it, more importantly if he is getting into trouble and he is being funny about he KNOWS that he can get away with it! He has mastered the art of crawling and is very fast at it. He can not quite walk by himself yet but he loves it when we hold his hand(s) and he can do it that way. OH OH! He said his first word (drum roll please...) "CAR"!! Thats right, not mama or dada...but "Car". He patted our car and said it. And since then when he watches "Baby Einstein: On the Go" he says it then and when he is playing with his cars:)Although that was the first week, since then he has not said it much(Go figure). How fast they do grow up. Now on to his big sister...PRINCESS KIMBERLY!

"Hi, my name is Kimberly Paige Luchau, but some people call me Sleeping Beauty" No i am not making this up, this is what my daughter tells people while we are at church, at Target, at WinCo...you name it, this is how she greets and introduces her self. By the way every couple of days it is a different princess! She cracks Josh and i up! She is growing into a little lady right before our eyes.I will have to post the picture later, but I noticed yesterday that she was drawing something and when i asked what it was, she said that is was Annie for Little Einstein. She shows me and i was expecting a little scribble here and there, but instead she had actually drawn a head, two circle of the eyes, a smile and arms(stick figure)!! I am so proud...now i didn't cry...i welled up!It was so neat. She is still our little ity-bity girl, so we have really kicked up her intake in her eating. To the point where she now for example eats two pieces of pizza for a dinner and donuts for breakfast. Anything helps with trying to gain a little weight on her.-lol :) Kimberly loves dressing up still and wants to go back to Disneyland yesterday. We can not wait to take her again. Although she insists that he "cousins" and best friends Luke and Matty come too!She loves those boys so much. Well i think that i have rambled on enough about my kiddos. I hope that this post finds you happy and well.Love to all.

**The HAPPIEST Pleace on Earth!!**

For Kimberly's 3rd birthday Josh and i wanted to do something really special for her and whats more special than taking your 3 year old little girl to DISNEYLAND!!! Josh and i kept it a surprise all week long up to the moment where i spilled the beans as we are reading ALOUD the street directions to the entrance of the park...(i mean come on, every street there is name "Disney" something..lol) She then sees the huge Mouse Ears on the roller coaster at California Adventure...and asked "ARE WE AT DISNEYLAND???!!!" Oh my goodness i have the video on my phone (wish i could put it on here) but she is flipping out with excitment. The whole day was full of rides and shows. There were times where Josh and i teared up with joy as we watched her meet her favorite princesses, mickey mouse, oh and watch a live show from Play House Disney. It was seriouly the BEST DAY! As night came we watched the "Year of a Million Dreams" Parade, it was beautiful! Kimberly said hello and waved at all who that passed by. Right after the parade we staked out our fire works spot ( because we all know that you have to stand in your perfect spot about 2 hours BEFORE the show even starts) so that way you can see. Anwyas, the show is finally about to start and kimberly has fallen asleep 30 minutes before, it was too late to just leave (we were trapped in) So we start to watch the how anyways. 5 mintues into the best firework show ever...it stops and a message comes over the load speaker that due to high winds the show has been cancelled....WHAT??!! Yeah, all that waiting for 5 minutes. But i did get a pretty good video of what we did see. -LOL. All and all it was such a great trip and we were so blessed to have been able to witness Kimberly on her special day. We love her so much!
