35,040 hours...1,460 days...or in other words 4 years. 4 years, that's how long Josh and I have been married. Wow, i can not believe it! It has gone by so fast. We have actually been together for a total of almost 5 years(when we started dating). It seems not to long ago our friend Kenny tryed getting us together. It did not happen at first, but days later Josh asked me out on a date :) A few more days later and the date had finally arrived! I was so excited, he wanted to take me out to see a play called "Mid-Summer Nights dream". I had never really been to plays before(except in high school) so i was looking forward to it. Josh showed up at my door nicely dressed(we thought that it would be fun to dress up for the play :) )and caring a white rose just for me. It was so sweet.
So that is how it all began, 2 weeks later we spoke what our hearts had immediately felt after a of couple dates;the words "I love you". 3 months later he asked me if i would spend forever with him, and 3 months after that we were sealed for eternity in the San Diego temple March 26th 2004. The best day of my life! And you all pretty much know the rest of what has been going on in our lives :)Two babies later and lots and lots of love and laughter, we could not be more happy to have each other.
As a young girl to a young adult i was always keeping my eye out for my "Prince Charming" all the while thinking of what i wanted him to look like, where we would get married, what his personalty would be like, ect...
So i dated a lot and kissed a lot of frogs and almost came close to marrying who i thought my "Prince Charming" was...but it just didn't feel right...and through lots of prayers decided not to presue this "Frog" anymore. I picked my self back up and really focused on my relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior. And 2 weeks later that is when Josh was blessed in my life.
He has made me more happy than i could have ever imagined or desired. He is such an amazing husband, someone who i feel so honored to be married to. So here we are 4 years later and i can not wait to spend 44(and then some) years with my "Prince Charming".
On Saturday night at around 12midnight i was just heading to bed, Josh and i had stayed up to watch a movie(which by the way he fell asleep to..lol)So after tucking him in to bed i had heard a noise, i peeked out the window and there was my neighbor across the street digging around in his car, and in a flash ran up to his front door with 2 Easter baskets. I thought to myself,"Oh how funny, they forgot about doing their kids Easter baskets...Oh shoot! So did i!- Baby i need to do the kids easter baskets!" With a mumble and a roll over Josh was back to sleep. So By 12:22am i had finally finished their baskets :) The kids had not slept very good at all after i had gone to bed.And we did not wake up until after 8am, so we missed going to church in Taft. Which i really wanted to make(as i do every Sunday) but this Sunday was special it was Easter and i wanted Kimberly to listen to the talks about the real meaning of Easter. So as any mom would do,I improvised :) i had read the night before Luke chapter 23-24 the last day or so of Christ's life and then His Resurrection. As Josh, Wyatt and I woke up we all waited for Miss Kimberly to join us. About 45mins later she awoke and the first thing out of her mouth was, "Where are my bunny ears-I need to put them on" So out she came with bunny ears on ready to celebrate the day. Kimberly walks into the living room and eyes almost pop out of her head; at her and brothers baskets sitting on the t.v stand. But before she got too envolved in the basket goodies, i sat her down next to me and told her the meaning of Easter and told her of what to day is and why it is a very special day. I thought that she was going to be distracted by her basket as i talked to her, but she actually sat and listened and asked questions. It was really neat, something i will always remember.
Soon after there was a blurr of fake pink and green grass, chocolate, books, princess items, toy airplanes, and Easter eggs filled with life saver jelly beans! It was awesome!! Later the day we headed over to Josh's Mom's in Taft, where we were greeted by some of his family on his mom's side. It was a feast to be hold.-yumm! After everyone had finished stuffing their tummy's it was the annual Easter basket giving from his mom, Diana. She had shopped, gathered and put together all 32 baskets. She always makes Easter to special!( Thank you Diana it was just great) Everyone OooOoed and Awwwed over what they were given, we all empty out the baskets and went on an Easter egg hunt!! Kimberly had so much fun. And it was great just watching her get out there with the big kids and racing to get the next egg. (Of course Josh and i helped her with some of the ones that were hard to see. :) ) It was a great time for all and one we will always remember.
Woooo Hoooo! Josh had a birthday last week! He turned 30...na just kidding, he turned 27! For a couple of weeks i had been planning on throwing him a surprise bday party and it finally came all together on Wed. the 19th. Some of our closes friends came to say surprise and wish him a happy bday. We had Josh's favorite meal(TACOS!!)It was so yummy. That day i was so worried that he already knew and that no body would show up and/or something would go terribly wrong. But it didn't, it came together so nicely.I'm sure that all the prayin' i was doing through out the day helped...lol. Mid-way through the party i got such a sense of relief and appreciation for such a wonderful and fun night that it was.Thank you to all that came, it really meant a lot to Josh and I.
